Birth services begin with 2-3 prenatal appointments, with the purpose of getting to know birthing person, family or support system, understanding needs, physical and emotional comfort measures, teaching childbirth education, laboring positions, learning health history and hopes for birth, creating a birth plan and birth education. As early as 13 weeks gestation.
I provide non-clinical birth doula support in the home and hospital and am comfortable supporting both vaginal and Cesarean sections. Support looks different for each birthing experience. Birthing people will receive virtual support/communication ongoing throughout pregnancy and, and physical support throughout early &/or active labor.
Physical support can look like: massage, counter pressure, acupressure, use of TENS unit, assistance with positions for medicated or unmedicated births, use of birth ball or peanut ball to create movement, use of rebozo, setting up room etc.
Emotional support can look like: Teaching and implementing breathing techniques for different parts of labor, guiding a visualization or meditation, helping keep a rhythm and ritual for contractions, partner support, helping understand what you are feeling in terms of labor progression, helping understand interventions in order for you to make informed decisions etc.
After birth, usually 1-6 weeks postpartum, I provide a postnatal appointment to talk through birth & help answer any questions.
Typical birth support pricing: $900 includes 3 prenatal appointments, birth support and 1 post natal appointment
Sliding scale pricing depends on the birthing person/family income and need. See sliding scale image for more understanding. Please reach out to talk about where you might fall on this scale and specifics of scale pricing.
